Your data & improving Check

It's opt-in

We only keep your working for improvement if you actively choose to allow it — at sign-up, or anytime from your account page. If you don't, nothing in this page applies to you: we simply check your maths and move on.

What we keep (if you opt in)

• The maths we read from your photo, as text/LaTeX.
• Any edits you make before checking — these are especially useful, as they show us where our reading or notation could be better.
• The result and feedback (correct or not, the hint, the level).
• Technical details: which AI model was used, how confident the reading was, how long it took, and how many tokens it used.

What we never keep

• Your photo. The image is used to read the maths and then discarded — it is never stored.
• Your name or email. Saved working is not linked to your account in a way that identifies you. We attach only a one-way code so we can group repeated attempts at the same problem — it can't be turned back into who you are.

Why we ask

Two reasons. First, the same photo can occasionally produce slightly different results — keeping the anonymised working lets us find and fix those cases. Second, comparing what we first read against your corrections helps us read handwriting and notation more accurately for everyone.

You're in control

You can turn this on or off at any time from your account page. Turning it off stops any further saving. Quota counts (how many checks you've used) are kept regardless, because they're needed to run the free and paid tiers.
